Welcome to the City of Baltimore!
Often called "Charm City", Baltimore is home to the Baltimore Estonian community as well as other European communities. From its historic beginnings as a seaport to its modern-day role as part of the Baltimore-Washington corridor, the City of Baltimore is wonderful place to visit or to live.
Baltimore has hosted several local festivals as well as the 1976 World Estonian Festival. From that '76 festival, the popular term "ESTO" was born. ESTO is an acronym for Estonian Tribute to the US Bicentennial. Today, "esto" is used to define other world festivals and persons of Estonian descent.
