E-mail setup instructions

Your Baltimore Estonian e-mail account can be accessed several ways.  If you plan to use Outlook, Outlook Express or Communicator, you can have your e-mail downloaded to these programs directly.  If you plan on using a web browser to check mail, you can have access to your mailbox via the Internet through Internet Explorer, Netscape Navigator or other browser programs.

Basic setup instructions are provided for the following access methods:

Microsoft Outlook

Open MS Outlook.  From the Menu Bar, select "Tools" and then select "Services".

From the "Services" window, click the "Add..." button to open "Add Service to Profile" window.

From the "Add Service to Profile" window, select "Internet Mail" from the drop down box and click "OK".

From the "Mail Accounts Property" window, there are 4 tabs: General, Servers, Connections, Advanced.

Microsoft Outlook Express

Open MS Outlook Express, from the Menu Bar, select "Tools" and then select "Accounts".

From the "Internet Accounts" window, select "Add..." then select "Mail" to open the "Internet Connection Wizard" window.

From the "Your Name" window,  type in your name at the "Display name" box.  This is the name associated with your e-mail address.  Click "Next" when finished.

From the "Internet E-mail Address" window, type in your full e-mail address (xxx@baltimoreeestlased.org).  Click "Next" when finished.

From the "E-mail Server Names" window, type in "mail.baltimoreeestlased.org" in both the Incoming Mail and Outgoing Mail server boxes.  Click "Next" when finished.

From the "Internet Mail Logon" window, type your full e-mail address in the "Account Name" box and your password in the "Password" box.  Note there is a "Remember Password" box that can be checked.  If left unchecked, you will be prompted to supply your password every time Outlook Express checks for mail.  By checking this box, Outlook Express will remember your password.  Click "Next when finished".

The last window confirms that you have successfully completed set up of this e-mail account in Outlook Express.  Click "Finish" to close the window.

The "Internet Accounts" window will remain open and you will see "mail.baltimoreeestlased.org" listed as an account.  This name can be changed by highlighting the accounting and clicking "Properties".   On the "General" tab, enter a "Mail Account" name in the box provided.  In the "User Information" section, your  name is already filled in though you can specify an organization (optional) in the space provided.  Your  e-mail address (xxx@baltimoreeestlased.org) is already filled in and you can fill in a reply e-mail address.

If you want to leave your messages on the mail server so you have access to them through a web browser, then on the "Advanced" tab, under "Delivery", check the "Leave a copy of messages on server" box.

Other (advanced users)

For other mail clients and advanced users, the following information is provided:

POP3 mail server:  mail.baltimoreeestlased.org

SMTP mail server:  mail.baltimoreeestlased.org

Username:  username@baltimoreeestlased.org

Password:  As provided (remember upper/lower case matters)

Website (checking e-mail through a web browser)

Go to http://mail.baltimoreeestlased.org:8383 to access the Internet iMail server.

In the Userid box, enter your full e-mail address (xxx@baltimoreeestlased.org)

In the password box, enter your password (upper/lower case matters) and click the LOGON box.  There are two additional check boxes: expire page views and remember my password.  Expire page views enables your browser to refresh the pages as you navigate through mail.  Remember my password enables your browser to remember your password (not recommended for public PCs or PCs with multiple users).

Use the HELP button to open an Online Help window to answer your mailbox questions.
